The three primary doshas are Vata or wind, Pitta or fire, and Kapha or water. We are born with all three doshas but they come together differently in each one of us. Every person has one primary form of dosha - Prakriti, that makes up his or her constitution.

Diet for Vata

Here are some tips for Vata skin type-

  • Avoid raw and cold foods
  • Eat warm, unctuous, well-spiced food prepared in healthy oils such as ghee.
  • Herbs like turmeric, cumin, nutmeg are excellent for pacifying Vata.
  • Drink warm water first thing in the morning to promote peristaltic action in the large intestine.
  • Stay warm
  • A healthy routine is key for keeping Vata in balance
  • Create a yoga practice that emphasis grounding.

Put 2 drops of oil in each nostril, ear canal, and on your feet. You can also put it in your navel and rectum area.
