Ragi Millet Dosa

Ragi, Mandika in Ayurveda is helpful in reducing cholesterol, excess fat, controls release of blood sugar levels and reduces water retention. Ragi is rich in iron and calcium.

Effect on Doshas

It balances Kapha but aggravates Pitta and Vata. More suitable for winter season. But if taken with coconut chutney and ghee (as an antitode) its affect on Vata and Pitta with be minimised.

Dry, heating and sweet.

RECIPE

Ingredients

1. Ragi flour- 4 tbsp

2. Rice flour- 4 tbsp

3. White vinegar-1 tsp

4. Lemon Juice-1 tsp

5. Chopped onion, curry leaves, corrainder

6. Mustard seeds

7. Salt

8. Water

9. Ghee gor cooking

Method

Mix all ingredients and gently add water to get runny consistency. Heat up a flat pan and brush ghee. Pour the mixture with a laddle, spreading in a circle.

Cover it and lower the heat. Check the bottom gently, and if it is easily coming up, turn and cook other side with out cover. Eat it with coconut chutney
